Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program offers a fun and engaging environment for young learners to explore the building blocks of Jiu-Jitsu. Typically, we welcome students starting at ages 5 to 7 years old (depending on the child’s individual readiness) and going up to 15 years old.
At our academy, we embrace students of all skill levels and provide training in both GI and No-GI techniques (alternating each week, with Sunday classes always in GI).
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on ground fighting and submission holds. The art emphasizes taking an opponent to the ground, gaining control, achieving dominant positioning, and using a variety of techniques to force them into submission through joint locks or chokeholds.
BJJ revolves around the principle that leverage and weight distribution can allow a smaller, weaker individual to defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent. This approach is effective for sport grappling, self-defense scenarios, physical fitness, character development, and can become a way of life.
